# Send Shopify Customer File Uploads to Google Drive > Connect Google Drive to your Shopify store and customer file uploads land straight in your Drive — auto-organized in a FileToInbox.com folder you can change anytime. Storage & delivery · 4 min read · Updated 2026-08-01 Canonical: https://filetoinbox.com/docs/shopify-file-uploads-to-google-drive If your team already lives in Google Drive, there's no reason customer uploads should live anywhere else. **File To Inbox** connects your Shopify store to **Google Drive** so every file a customer uploads — print-on-demand artwork, prescriptions, photos, documents — lands straight in your Drive, in a folder the app keeps organized for you. You still get an email notification per upload, and the files sit in your own account forever, under your control. Here's how to set it up. ## 1. Connect Google Drive on the dashboard Open the app's dashboard and find the **Where your uploaded files go** card. Under **Connect your own storage**, click **Connect** next to **Google Drive**. You'll hop out to Google's own consent screen — pick the Google account you want the files in and approve access. That's it: back on the dashboard, the row shows **Connected** with your account's email. (Google Drive support is fresh, so you'll see a **Beta** badge next to it.) ![Connect Google Drive on the dashboard — Google Drive row Connect button highlighted](https://filetoinbox.com/docs-assets/img/shopify-file-uploads-to-google-drive/00-connect.png) ## 2. Point a widget at Google Drive Open any upload widget or standalone page and scroll to **Storage destination**. Set the dropdown to **Google Drive** and Save — done, that widget's uploads now go to your Drive. It's a per-widget setting, so one widget can feed Google Drive while another uses the built-in Cloud storage. ![Know your base folder — FileToInbox.com by default — #storage_folder_folderName highlighted](https://filetoinbox.com/docs-assets/img/shopify-file-uploads-to-google-drive/02-destination.png) ## 3. Choose the folder — and see exactly where files will land Right below the destination, the **Storage folder** field says where in your Google Drive this widget's uploads go — **/FileToInbox.com** if you leave it empty (the app creates it automatically, so files never clutter your Drive root). Type any path you like, for example "/FileToInbox.com/artwork", and the app creates it on first upload; a single "/" sends files straight to your Drive root. Switch on **separate folders per upload session** to group each customer's files, and the **"Files from this widget will go to"** line at the bottom always shows the exact destination — no guessing. ![Point a widget at Google Drive — #upload_page_storageProvider highlighted](https://filetoinbox.com/docs-assets/img/shopify-file-uploads-to-google-drive/01-folder.png) ## 4. Open uploads right from the app Every upload still shows up in the app: the widget's **Uploads** list shows each session with **to Google Drive** in the Uploaded column, and each filename links straight to the file in your Drive. The email notification you get per upload carries the same links, so whether you start from your inbox, the app, or Drive itself, you land on the same file. ![Open uploads right from the app — Uploaded column highlighted](https://filetoinbox.com/docs-assets/img/shopify-file-uploads-to-google-drive/03-uploads.png) ## FAQ ### How do I upload Shopify customer files to Google Drive? Connect Google Drive on the app's dashboard (one click plus Google's consent screen), then set your upload widget's Storage destination to Google Drive. Every customer upload from that widget is delivered into your Drive automatically. ### Where in my Google Drive do the files end up? In the folder set on each upload widget — /FileToInbox.com by default, created automatically. Every widget shows a live "files will go to" line in its settings, and each widget can use a different folder. ### How big can uploaded files be? Up to 5 GB per file with Google Drive as the destination. ### How long do files stay in my Drive? Forever — they're regular files in your own Google Drive account, so you control retention completely. The 365-day limit only applies to the app's built-in Cloud storage. ### Can I use Google Drive for one widget and something else for another? Yes. Storage destination is set per widget, so different widgets can deliver to Google Drive, OneDrive, Box, Dropbox, SFTP, or the built-in Cloud storage independently. ### What happens if I disconnect Google Drive? Files already delivered stay in your Drive — the app never deletes them. Widgets still set to Google Drive can't deliver new files until you reconnect, so switch their Storage destination first or reconnect the account. ### Does this work with a Google Workspace account? Yes — connect whichever Google account should own the files, personal or Workspace. The files belong to that account like any other Drive file. ## Related - [Where Uploaded Files Go: Email, Dropbox, Google Drive & More](https://filetoinbox.com/docs/file-upload-storage-and-notifications.md) - [Send Shopify Customer File Uploads to OneDrive](https://filetoinbox.com/docs/shopify-file-uploads-to-onedrive.md) - [Send Shopify Customer File Uploads to Box](https://filetoinbox.com/docs/shopify-file-uploads-to-box.md)
